Coloring is a Great Holiday Stress Relief

Adult coloring books are all the rage right now. What I always say, 'If you have stamps, you have your own coloring book."
The two basics cards for December's card class let you color and color and color -- my cards used yellows and greens with either a Saffron or Peacock mat.
The heart card was one I saw on Karen Pederson's website done in pink using watercolors. Changing the hearts to yellow and using the ShinHan markers gave it a bright and sunny look.
I love sunflowers and the second card is colored, again, with the Shinhan markers using browns, oranges, yellows, and green.

Winter Wonderland in Crystal Blue and White Daisy

It will be a little warm where I live for Christmas so I looked for a little craft time to help me think Winter!!

Here is a little Winter Wonderland layout. This was our $5 Layout kit at the December Crop and it was so much fun.

A little watercolor fun creating a blue sky behind the tree. Tone on tone with White Daisy letters and snowflakes. This looks great in one of Close To My Heart's shadow box frames.

Keep an eye out for January's $5 Layout kit, it will be a little Valentine love!!

Use Your Stash Washi Tape Time

December's Use Your Stash Blog Hop theme is Washi Tape. There are only three this month, so all the hoppers are listed at the bottom so you can move right along.

My Washi tape has a great home in one of the Close To My Heart small organizers and as you see, I do have a collection beginning. There will be a few more washi tape dispensers in my future.

And with my need to organize, my organizer is labeled on the top for traveling in the Close To My Heart rolling cart and on the front panel (not shown) for easy location on my shelves.

With our new 2016 Everyday Life Planner (which has it's own coordinating washi tape), it just made sense to use some of my stash to get my life organized, or at least try.

After a bit of testing, I found the pink polka dot and the arrow washi tapes to look real good with the colors of the planner.

My favorite is the pink!!

Here is the beginning of my planning -- and it works great -- so get out your stash of washi tape and find a new project to show…

December Daily Photo is Christmas Tree

Today was the day to take a photo of your tree but this year it looks like it will be a no tree year. And that is not a bad thing because I made my own little trees to share with my bestest friends -- my Rockin heARTS team members.

Here are a few of the place cards and a little gift box that will hold something delicious for each.

It is the season for giving and thanks to so many in my life, I feel so much love this season!!

Join my Rockin' heART team and enjoy some fun at our team meetings. They do go on the road so no matter where you live you will see something good come your way!!

Do You Love a Pretty Bouquet for your Christmas Table

Here is a great idea on creating the perfect Christmas Centerpiece.

December 3rd Photo A Day Activity - Your Favorite Christmas Movie

My favorite movies are all from years gone by and most are black and white -- no big fancy special effects, just good dialog and storylines that make you smile.

December A Day Photo Fun

My planning for the December A Day photo project has been on my schedule for months, BUT, I am one of those procrastinator types. Along comes my friend and mentor, Michelle Snyder with an AWESOME photo activity plan already done!! And she said I could use it!! Yea, another thing off my list -- so here it is!

Starting today, December the 1st and each day after, I will follow the activities sheet and take a photo BUT that is not all. I am using the White Pines Picture My Life cards, they are WONDERFUL for this project as they have a card for each day -- AND journaling cards, which is what my BUT was about, I plan on journaling the photo - a photo without a story is just a photo. I want to share with my grands the why of the photo.

These Picture My Life cards and page protectors will be stored in the beautiful red floral D Ring album, which I think goes great with Christmas and each year I can add to this album, making it a work in progress!!

I will share more about how I am progressing a…

Use Your Stash Colors of Fall Paper DeStash Hop

This month we are using up those Fall papers that have been hanging around for some time. Welcome to the Use Your Stash Blog Hop, if you have hopped from Marie'sblog you are on the right track. Our hop leader, Priscilla, has a full list of bloggers.

My project is part of surprise for my monthly cropping buddies and a great way for me to use up some of last year's Fall paper collection and retired colors, Olive and Barn Red.

I added a little new with Fall colors from our ShinHan markers.

Please enjoy your time as you see what everyone has created just for you. Hop on over to Anna's blog now BUT wait, I would love for you to comment on my project.

Christmas Cards with a Glitter Flair

There are those special cards you create for those special people and a good friend of mine, Susan, wanted to create a card like that at what I am calling our Advanced Christmas card class --

Gold glitter paper, poinsettias, embossing with pigment ink and a little greenery were used to make this first card one of my favorites

And don't forget the inside

White Glitter paper and liquid glass are used in this second special card

A little Fern cardstock and some stash organza ribbon add a little more to this card - do you see the liquid glass on the ornaments.

And again, don't forget the inside.

A Little Mojo Monday Challenge Christmas Card

Do you ever want a little creative challenge? Well, so do I and this week I decided to play along with Mojo Monday sketch 424.
Black, White Daisy, Cranberry cardstock with a little Cranberry Fundamental Assortment bow (there is a great Fundamentals special) and, of course, an ornament and rectangle for Art Philosophy and a rectangle from Artiste Cricut cartridge (need one of the CTMH cartridges, I would love to help you find the perfect match for you!) and last but not least a wonderful Christmas stamp set, Holly Jolly Christmas (D1657).
Don't forget the inside --

Please leave a comment, I love to read what you have to say and share!

White Pines and Urban, What's On Your Craft Table?

Here you see my desk as I prepare to finish up on my White Pines gift bags for an upcoming special event and my Urban projects all ready for next month -- want to play along with me, purchase your Urban collection, Workshop on the Go (G1103) and the coordinating Complements (X7204C) and see what projects we will create in December!!

White Pines and Tepee Card

I have seen the tepee card on Pinterest and put it on the 'someday' list, well, today is someday.

Champagne and Chocolate cardstock, White Pines pattern paper, Holly Jolly Christmas (D1657) stamp set, Artistry Cricut cartridge (greenry) and sparkles (little ones may be better for my next card).
This was my first attempt, next version will be using Urban paper pack for class next month!!
To close the card, I used our tiny hook&loop dots (Z1805)!
Click here for a video so you can make one for yourself!

Get Back to Fundamentals a Technique Blog Hop

I love the Fundamental products offered by  Close To My Heart and when I found out that was the technique theme for November's Technique Blog Hop, I just had to hop in - pun intended!

If you have hopped from Haley's blog you are on the right track. This is a circle hop, so when you return from whence you started, you have seen it all!

My creation is a gift bag  made with Goldrush Fundamental paper (retired pattern), a Fern cardstock tag, Enchantment Fundamental stickers and Peacock Fundamental Assortment. Did I go overboard, well maybe, but it was so much fun.
I added a White Daisy 3" x 6" piece for contrast on the bottom.
I see this style bag with a Christmas theme being made at an upcoming class and crop!! My dear sweet Joan Nummy, a fellow CTMH sister and Rockin' Heart team member turned me on to this cute gift bag pattern and I searched Pinterest to find a tutorial for anyone else who would love to create one, click here for step by step instructions from De…

Christmas Cards with White Pines

It is never too early to start on those Christmas cards!

November's card classes are all about Christmas.

Three cards from our awesome White Pines Card Workshop on the Go, two cards from Creative Insider workshop (because Close To My Heart wants us to succeed so they offer us resources), and one pop-up card using the Cricut Explore and the Close To My Heart cartridges. Click here to see all the White Pines coordinating products.

Here is the link to the Cricut Design Space file, if you don't have our cartridges and you don't have a Close To My Heart consultant, please go to my website and grab your own!!

I would love to have you join me for a card workshop, email me at

Loving the White Pines

The beauty of the Close To My Heart Workshops on the Go is the amount of projects you can complete. Here is the second layout created from the White Pines Workshop on the Go.

This layout will work for Christmas or you can make a few changes and it will work for a winter family get together.

Love the stamp set -- Family Gatherings is one of my fav sentiments on the Workshops exclusive stamp set.

Jazz up the journaling piece with a few stamped images and a button from the White Pines Assortment (comes with the White Pines Workshop on the Go).

White Pines my FAVorite Paper Pack for November

There is always a special paper pack that I like to work with each month. This month White Pines is my go to paper. Christmas is around the corner and having all your Christmas layouts and cards ready will take a little holiday stress off you.

It was fun using Cheers (S1511) to add lines to the journaling block. The Artistry Cricut cartridge shapes coordinated with the White Pines Workshop on the Go stamp set! Another of those great Christmas stamp sets!!

The finishing touches were from the White Pines Assortment and the Red Sparkles.
If you like this paper pack, I would grab it up soon -- it retires at the end of December -- click HERE to start shopping NOW.
